Our Mission and Vision
The mission of Allied Recovery International is to serve individuals and families in disadvantaged communities in the world. Drawing strength from our diversity, resources and experience, we promote innovative solutions and are advocates for global responsibility.
In order to endure a strong program impact, ARI is committed to:
Quality professional staff - ARI is particular about recruiting the right persons for the right jobs. We select only highly qualified staff who have demonstrated success in the field and are well-versed in professional standards. Our senior specialists add the most value by being based at field locations where their performance is responsive to and enhanced by direct involvement with projects, partners, and beneficiaries.
Direct implementation - To assure accountability, timeliness, quality, and cost effectiveness, we take a "hands-on", field-based approach by hiring and training local construction staff and limiting the use of sub-contractors.
State-of-the-art design, analysis, and implementation - Our approach gives priority to community participation in planning functional and culturally accepted facilities, structures, and/or services that can be easily maintained or sustained. ARI professionals know how to identify and use appropriate and cost-effective technology, using locally-sourced materials whenever possible. A particular area of expertise lies in building structures that incorporate seismic safety.
Holistic approach - To help communities fully recover from disasters, we form collaborative and joint funding partnerships with NGOs that are recognized as experts in sectors other than construction. These partnerships allow us to design strategies that are comprehensive and integrated, and that complement our organization’s expertise in construction and public health.
Quality control and assurance program – ARI’s competitive edge in quality construction is two-fold. First, with our skilled construction managers directing projects rather than monitoring contractors, we can assure more quality control, timeliness and beneficiary satisfaction of projects. Such an approach significantly reduces the potential risk for corner-cutting and corruption. Secondly, by hiring, training and supervising local construction staff, we can ensure value through workers who are motivated to learn and perform well, as well as contribute to building local construction workforce capacity.
